Why I love SA? Let me count the ways..
What do I love about this country?
The fact that I have lived here for many years (let’s not get into specifics) and I have yet to see everything South Africa has to offer!
I still have to take in the scenic view from Table Mountain; Camp in the Drakensberg; Visit the quaint town, Clarens in the Free State; Explore Mpumalanga in all its glory; Do the unthinkable: A Soweto tour; Take a ride in a hot air balloon in North West; Gather all my marbles and do white river rafting on the Vaal River; Go for a Tsitsikamma forest walk; Swim with the penguins at Boulders beach; Ride an ostrich in Oudtshoorn and follow the sardine run in Durbs. And I’m just getting warmed up.
All of this on my doorstep!
I’ve done Table Mountain, Drakensberg, Clarens and White Water Rafting. I’m not sure about riding an ostrich though! I’m keen for a hot air balloon ride
I’ve done Table Mountain, Drakensberg, parts of Mpumalanga, a small part of Tsitsikamma, swimming with penguins, riding an ostrich and following the sardine run… I’m also definitely keen for a hot air balloon ride! Maybe we should have a team building day?
Good idea! Definitely a good excuse to get out the office!
Goodness gracious Katrine! You probably have quite a few BTDT T-shirts to prove this and as many wonderful stories to tell your grandchildren one day.
I’m all for a hot air balloon team building day – bring it on!
Louise > I dare you! Put that ostrich ride on your still-to-do list.
No t-shirts but lots of great memories I think we are all sometimes guilty of taking our own country for granted, but when exploring another country we go all the way! I have seen a lot more of South Africa than Norway, and it definitely helped working for Country Life as well.
I have done Drakensberg, Clarens, White River Rafting and planning on doing the Sardine run this year, it will be the first time I’m in Natal during the event YAY!
Bring on the Hot Air Balloon team building!
Do ostriches and hot air balloons have safety belts? If not, I suggest you give it a miss. Remember that you have young children!
